Drew Foster is an
accomplished and successful college student who attends Providence. In addition to taking a very
challenging class load, being a member of a number of different student
organizations and maintaining a grade point average that will keep him on the
Dean’s List, Drew Foster takes time out of his busy weeks to tutor fellow
students who are struggling with coursework in the finance department. As an
experienced tutor, Drew Foster has a few ideas on what the responsibilities of
a tutor are.
First and foremost, Drew
Foster is quick to point out that tutors cannot and should not replace
classroom instruction. In fact, according to Drew Foster, the best tutors are
ones who perfectly supplement the instruction in the classroom. Drew Foster
says that, should you find yourself with a tutor who believes that they can
replace classroom instruction, you should seek out other resources.
Second, Drew Foster says
that the best tutors are ones who are willing to tailor their services to meet
a wide variety of student needs. Drew Foster has quite a bit of experience
tailoring his tutoring style to meet the needs of his students and says that if
a tutor is unable to do so, they should probably not be tutoring anyone.
